<span style="font-size: 14px;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms,helvetica,sans-serif;">Pattie has been asked by one of the deacons in our diocese to provide a list of the names and email addresses of anyone in our parish who would be willing to work on identifying needs in our community. These people will be paired with a facilitator to help them go through a process of identifying the needs and ways to address those needs. The information they gather will be compiled and discussed with the delegates at our next diocesan convention in November. If you would like more information or would be interested in identifying needs in our community, please contact Pattie at phcinnyc@yahoo.com. Thank you!<br />

They generally serve an average of 150 people on Mondays; sometimes less, sometimes a bit more.<br />

In the Episcopal Church, Vestry members are elected at the parish Annual Meeting for a term of three years. The privilege and honor of serving your parish in this way carries certain responsibilites: the vestry members are not only spiritual leaders in the church but also are responsible for the budget, maintenance of the buildings, stewardship including the raising of funds to support the parish and works with the Rector in the worship life of the parish. <br />

<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>To: All St. John's Men:</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>The Sylva Downtown Association's ChillyFest will be on Saturday, October 10.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>This year St. John's will be entering the chili competition.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Here's how it works:</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Each team prepares from 7 to 10 gallons of chili.&nbsp; Along with the judging, ChillyFest attendees get to sample all of the chili.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>In addition to the chili, each team will have space for a booth which may be decorated in an appropriate theme.&nbsp; They recommend at least a canopy, chairs and equipment to keep the chili hot and serve it.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>The festival ;hours are from 12:00 noon until 6:00pm.&nbsp; We must be setup and ready to serve at 11:45am.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Our plan is to start cooking the chili early Saturday morning.&nbsp; Depending on how many men we have helping, we may either do the &quot;prep&quot; work Saturday morning or Friday night.&nbsp;</div>
<div>,</div>
<div>The prep work will be mainly chopping (lots of chopping), and getting the ingredients together.&nbsp; We will also need folks to setup the booth and to man the booth during the day.&nbsp; We can have up to 4 people working the booth.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>This will be a fun day of fellowship for our church and community.&nbsp; Also, it is an opportunity to show our friends and neighbors what a &quot;fun bunch&quot; we are.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Check your calendar and let me know if you are available to participate.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>If you can join in, let me know as soon as possible by e-mail: <a href="mailto:larryatiner@aim.com">larryatiner@aim.com</a>, or phone: 828-507-1746.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
